Creative Leadership changes at Saatchi & Saatchi Canada.
Saatchi & Saatchi Canada announces changes to its creative leadership. After a tenure of 13 years as Executive Creative Director of Saatchi, Brian Sheppard is stepping down from the role. Rob Gendron, current Creative Director of Saatchi, will take on the role of Executive Creative Director, effective April 1, 2023.
“I approached Saatchi President Stuart Payne in the fall and let him know that I planned on leaving the ECD role this spring”, said Sheppard, a 30-year industry veteran. “It’s a cliché, but if you’re lucky you just know when it’s the right time. Still, not an easy decision to move on from what has been an absolutely incredible job, with the best group of people and clients.”
Brian has been a vital part of the Saatchi & Saatchi team for over a decade. Under his creative leadership, Saatchi Canada has grown into a dynamic full-service organization with a fantastic array of brands. “It has been wonderful to work with someone so admired and respected in the agency, in the industry, and by our clients” commented Stuart Payne, President of Saatchi.
Rob Gendron, who has been with Saatchi for 11 years and held creative posts at several agencies including Y&R, JWT, Digital Cement and Leo Burnett, was a natural choice for the role. “Rob has been an integral part of our creative offering and has worked closely with Brian and I for many years. And he’s well-respected throughout our agency and the industry,” said Payne.” It speaks to our culture and philosophy of finding incredible people and giving them the time and opportunity to grow into the very highest positions within Saatchi.”
“I am honored to be taking on this new role and am excited to continue working with the talented team at Saatchi to push the boundaries of creativity and deliver outstanding results for our clients”, said Gendron.
Sheppard will be returning to his hometown of St. John’s, Newfoundland this spring and will continue to be part of the Saatchi family working remotely.
